Loving this kind of style. Start by making skinny Black & White line pattern with squares, group them together and rasterize. Liquify tool is going to be your friend and you just squiggle it up until it feels right. I usually use a brush with extremely low opacity over the top when I’m done to add some shadow and overlay it.

This is early experimentation hence the basic shapes.
